Our founding Fathers put together a constitution that no other country could envision. It survived a Civil War, two World Wars, numerous other wars, Vietnam protests and civil rights protests to name a few obstacles.

The United States was the envy of the civilized world. After all, there were countries that had been around for centuries that were nowhere close to our level of advancement WHY????

It is obvious to me why! Our Constitution granted us individual rights. The free enterprise right motivated many to succeed. The proceeds were yours to do with as you pleased. The free enterprise system provided unlimited jobs for citizens. It was a win/ win situation for all who were willing to produce.

Our educational system was second to none. When a person graduated from high school they were ready for entry level jobs in most industries. Those that chose college were also ready after graduation to assume a responsible position.

What perpetuated this for generations? The American Citizens had high morals and strong family values. Two-parent families instilled these qualities in their children. People went to work regardless of how they felt because they were brought up to be responsible citizens.

What happened to change that?
